Sealing components for aerospace
Aerospace OEMs and tier suppliers need precision sealing components that survive temperature extremes, aggressive fluids, vibration, and the documentation requirements of flight hardware. Cannon Gasket supplies custom gaskets, washers, O-rings, EMI shields, and Kapton insulators for commercial, defense, and space programs.
Where aerospace sealing shows up
- Fuel system gaskets and O-rings (Viton, fluorosilicone)
- Avionics enclosure EMI/RFI shielding
- Environmental and door seals
- Fire-retardant insulation gaskets (Nomex)
- Aerospace hydraulic and pneumatic seals
- Wire harness grommets and strain relief components
Aerospace Sealing and Insulation Applications
Fuel system seals run in fluorosilicone or Viton to handle jet fuel, AvGas, and rocket fuel exposure, while Viton and Nitrile cover hydraulic fluid systems. For high-temperature electrical insulation in avionics and engine controls, Cannon cuts Kapton, Nomex, and phenolic to drawing. EMI and RFI shielding for shielded enclosures uses conductive elastomer gaskets. Silicone handles cryogenic seals in liquid-oxygen and liquid-hydrogen-adjacent service, where it stays serviceable at low temperature. Sponge and elastomer pads provide vibration damping for instrument mounts and panel sealing, protecting sensitive flight hardware from shock and resonance.
Materials We Supply for Aerospace
Cannon stocks fluorosilicone, Viton, silicone, Buna-N, EPDM, Kapton, Nomex, phenolic, G-10 and FR-4, conductive silicone, expanded PTFE, and MIL-spec compounds. Each material is matched to its sealing role, from fuel and hydraulic resistance to high-temperature insulation, EMI shielding, and cryogenic service. Parts are fabricated to AMS, ZZ, and military drawing requirements, so a customer callout maps directly to a qualified compound and a controlled cut.
Production and Quality
Cannon runs an ISO 9001 certified quality system, with a Class 10,000 (ISO 7) clean room available for sensitive flight hardware. Part identification is applied to MIL-STD-130 by pad printing, and every shipment carries lot-level traceability and compound documentation. AS9100-compatible documentation is available on programs that require it, with production handled within the existing ISO 9001 framework.
