Silicone Rubber Gaskets
Silicone is the elastomer of choice when the gasket sees extreme temperatures, food or medical contact, or applications where flexibility must be retained across a wide thermal range. Cannon Gasket die-cuts custom silicone gaskets from FDA, medical, and industrial-grade compounds in a Class 10,000 clean room when contamination control is part of the specification. Available in commercial, high-grade, FDA and medical, conductive, extreme-temperature, and fiberglass-reinforced grades.

Properties of Silicone gaskets
Cannon Gasket cuts Silicone gaskets to your specifications in durometers ranging from 10A to 90A Shore hardness. Outstanding resistance to ozone, UV, and weathering. FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and USP Class VI grades available.
Silicone tolerances and customization
Standard dimensional tolerances on Silicone gaskets land around ±0.010" to ±0.015" on OD and ID, depending on material durometer and thickness. Tighter tolerances are available on selected grades. Cannon Gasket cuts Silicone to custom profiles in-house and matches lead times to your production volume. PSA backing, pad printing, custom packaging, and kitting are all on the menu when you need them.
How Silicone Performs Across Temperature Extremes
- Service temperature range from approximately -50°F to +500°F (specific compound dependent). - Retains flexibility at cryogenic temperatures without becoming brittle. - Good resistance to ozone, UV, weather, and most polar fluids. - FDA-approved and medical-grade compounds available for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and medical device contact. - Available in durometers from 10A to 80A.
Where Silicone Gaskets Are Specified
Food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical equipment, medical devices, cryogenic equipment, high-temperature electrical insulation, oven and HVAC gaskets, aerospace assemblies, and any application combining temperature extremes with cleanliness requirements.
When Silicone Is the Wrong Choice
Silicone has poor resistance to oils, fuels, and most hydrocarbons. For oil or fuel contact, specify Fluorosilicone (silicone's chemical-resistant cousin) or Viton.
Manufacturing Methods
Die-cut from silicone sheet, lathe-cut from silicone tube for thick parts, and clean-room-processed when sterility matters.
Standard sizes, tolerances & manufacturing
Precision & tooling: Capable of holding tolerances as tight as ±.001" on critical dimensions when required, beyond the ±0.010" to ±0.015" standard. Short- and long-run capabilities. All parts available with pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) on one or two sides.
Clean room: Cannon Gasket offers clean-environment stamping for medical, FDA, electronic, and scientific applications where a controlled level of particulate is required, with capabilities to meet ISO Class 10,000.
Stocking agreements: Blanket orders, VMI (vendor-managed inventory), JIT (just-in-time), and Kanban replenishment programs.
Pad printing: Pad print your part number, identification marking, or company name in a range of ink colors. Marking per customer specifications or MIL-STD-130.
Packaging: Parts are bagged and tagged in specified quantities and labeled with P/N or any required information. Capability to meet specific packaging and labeling requirements.
