Our commitment
Cannon Gasket is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of ability or technology. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as the benchmark for all new and re-platformed pages.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML. Pages use headings, landmarks, lists, and tables that make structure readable to assistive technology.
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element (navigation, buttons, forms, the chatbot, tool inputs) is reachable and operable by keyboard alone.
- Color and contrast. Body text and primary UI meet WCAG AA contrast ratios. Color is never the sole carrier of meaning.
- Resizable text. Content reflows cleanly at up to 200% zoom without loss of information or function.
- Alternative text. Meaningful images have descriptive alt text; decorative images are marked aria-hidden.
- Form labels. Every form control has a visible label and an associated HTML
<label for>. - Focus indicators. Interactive elements show a visible focus ring on keyboard navigation.
Assistive technology tested
We periodically test the Site with current versions of:
- VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
- NVDA on Windows
- Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge keyboard navigation
- Browser zoom up to 200%
- Prefers-reduced-motion respected in animated content
Known limitations
The Site includes the following features where full accessibility is a work in progress. If any of these blocks you, contact us and we will provide the information in an alternative format.
- DXF Instant-Quote Estimator.The visual SVG preview of uploaded geometry is decorative; numerical output (cost, lead time, material) is presented in accessible text below the preview. Screen-reader users can skip the preview with the “Skip to results” link once it appears.
- Legacy content.A small number of blog posts migrated from the prior WordPress site may contain inline styles that don't meet contrast requirements at every zoom level. We re-mediate these as we find them.
- PDF downloads. Per-material and per-article PDF downloads are generated from the page DOM. They are keyboard navigable but not fully tagged for screen readers. The canonical web page remains fully accessible.
