Precision Diaphragms.

Cannon Gasket builds diaphragms under ISO 9001 systems. FDA, USP Class VI, and platinum-cure grades, plus ISO 7 clean-room assembly. Send a drawing, cycle-life target, and pressure range. We reply with material picks, sample parts, and production pricing.

Quick facts about Diaphragms
  • Moves pressure, shifts fluid, and keeps contamination out of diaphragm pumps, pressure regulators, valves, and actuators.
  • Chemical processing lines, medical devices, semiconductor gas handling, automotive systems, and aerospace fluid-control equipment all run custom diaphragms.
  • Custom die-cut rubber diaphragms in silicone, EPDM, Viton, fluorosilicone, and fabric-reinforced nylon or polyester.

Materials

Diaphragm materials.

We produce high strength, tear resistant diaphragms from a wide range of elastomeric materials, selected to match your operating environment, temperature, chemical exposure, pressure, and flex life requirements. Diaphragms are commonly used in high pressure applications where the material must be flexible yet durable enough to withstand repeated flexing over a long period of time.

Reinforcing fabrics

Materials are integrated with reinforcing fabrics to improve application performance and durability while maintaining responsiveness to variations in pressure.

Applications

Where diaphragms work in your equipment.

Flexing elastomer diaphragms are specified across fluid handling, pneumatics, and medical devices. Here is how we support the most common diaphragm applications with die-cut and molded parts.

Diaphragm Pumps
Flexible diaphragms are the working element in air-operated double-diaphragm (AODD) pumps, chemical metering pumps, and peristaltic alternatives, we cut Buna-N, EPDM, Viton, and PTFE blanks to your pump pattern.
Control Valves
Diaphragms isolate process media from the bonnet and actuator in diaphragm valves used for water treatment, chemical dosing, biopharma fluid paths, and high-purity process piping.
Pressure Regulators
Pressure-sensing diaphragms drive the regulator poppet in gas, LPG, compressed-air, and hydraulic regulators, we supply fabric-reinforced and plain elastomer diaphragms on customer spec.
Actuators
Pneumatic and hydraulic diaphragm actuators convert line pressure into linear stroke for damper drives, safety shut-off valves, and automation equipment, typically in NBR or fabric-reinforced EPDM.
Medical Devices
Ventilators, dialysis machines, infusion pumps, and surgical suction devices rely on silicone and medical-grade Buna-N diaphragms, we work under ISO 7 clean-room conditions where required.
Pneumatic Controls
Air-logic elements, pilot valves, and pneumatic relays use thin-profile diaphragms as quiet, long-life flexing seals in factory air, HVAC controls, and process-control interlocks.
Automotive Systems
Fuel-system regulators, vacuum modulators, brake boosters, and EGR emissions controls all use elastomer diaphragms, we match OEM durometer, geometry, and fabric reinforcement to your spec.
Irrigation & Agriculture
Solenoid valves, backflow preventers, and drip-system pressure regulators use EPDM and Buna-N diaphragms sized to handle UV exposure, fertilizer chemistry, and freeze-thaw cycling.
Marking & packaging

Finishing and identification.

Pad Printing
Individual parts can be labeled for identification purposes. We can pad print your part number, identification marking, or company name on each part, with various colors of ink available. Marking is done per customer specifications or MIL-STD-130.
Packaging
Parts can be bagged and tagged into specific quantities and labeled with the part number or any required information. We can meet any specific packaging or labeling requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about custom diaphragms.

Are you ISO 9001 certified?
Yes, ISO 9001:2015 certified. Documented quality management covers incoming material verification, in-process inspection, calibrated measurement, final inspection, non-conformance handling, corrective action, and full lot traceability. AS9100-ready for aerospace, with MIL-spec and FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 / USP Class VI grades available on request.
Do you supply fabric-reinforced diaphragms?
Yes. Nylon or polyester fabric embedded in the elastomer adds tensile strength for high-pressure service. Common for hydraulic and pneumatic actuator applications above 100 psi.
What applications use custom diaphragms?
Diaphragm pumps, pressure regulators, pneumatic actuators, control valves, medical devices (ventilators, dialysis, infusion pumps), and pneumatic logic controls. We cut the diaphragm blank to your drawing in any of the stocked compounds.
Which materials are used for custom diaphragms?
Silicone for wide temperature and FDA grades, EPDM for weather and steam, Nitrile / Buna-N for fuel and oil pumps, Viton for aggressive chemicals, Fluorosilicone for aerospace fuel systems, and fabric-reinforced rubber for high-pressure applications.
How fast do you return a quote?
Most RFQs come back within one business day. Simple profile updates to an existing tool quote same-day. Send a drawing, DXF, or competing part number and our engineering team reviews material, tolerance, and volume before pricing.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Minimums depend on the part and material. We cut prototype and first-article quantities for engineering evaluation, then scale up to production volumes from the same tooling. For high-volume programs we run JIT, VMI, and Kanban replenishment out of Fontana, California.
What should I send with an RFQ?
Ideal: a drawing or DXF, material spec (or compound family), estimated annual volume, and any regulatory callouts (FDA, USP Class VI, AS9100, MIL-spec). If you only have a sample or a part number from a competing supplier, send that and we will reverse-engineer the spec before quoting.
What are typical lead times?
Prototype and first-article parts usually ship in 5-10 business days. Production runs from existing tooling are 2-3 weeks depending on volume and material lead time. Rush and expedite options available on a case-by-case basis.
