Why specify LDPE for plastic washers?

LDPE is the lower-density, more flexible cousin of HDPE — softer, more conformable, and economical for applications where flexibility matters more than rigidity. Cannon Gasket die-cuts custom LDPE washers for low-pressure sealing, chemical isolation, and economical industrial use.

Properties of LDPE plastic washers

Cannon Gasket cuts LDPE plastic washers to your drawing in durometer and thickness specifications of Shore D 40–50. Good resistance to acids, alkalis, and most aqueous solutions. Food grade resins available. Not suitable for chlorinated solvents, aromatics, or oxidizing acids.

LDPE tolerances and customization

Standard dimensional tolerances on LDPE plastic washersland around ±0.010" to ±0.015" on OD and ID, depending on material durometer and thickness. Tighter tolerances are available on select grades. Cannon Gasket cuts LDPE to custom profiles in-house and matches lead times to your production volume. PSA backing, pad printing, custom packaging, and kitting are all on the menu when you need them.

How LDPE Performs
