Why specify EPDM for lathe-cut washers?

EPDM lathe cut washers handle the outdoor, water, steam, and ozone-exposed applications where die-cut sheet would be too thin or where a square edge profile delivers better sealing. Lathe cutting starts with EPDM tube and produces washers with perpendicular faces and consistent thicknesses across the entire production run. Parts can be marked to customer specifications or MIL-STD-130, with Class 10,000 clean room manufacturing available on request.

Properties of EPDM lathe-cut washers

Cannon Gasket cuts EPDM lathe-cut washers to your drawing in durometer and thickness specifications of 40A to 80A Shore hardness. Excellent resistance to ozone, UV, water, steam, and brake fluids. Not suitable for petroleum oils or fuels.

EPDM tolerances and customization

Standard dimensional tolerances on EPDM lathe-cut washersland around ±0.010" to ±0.015" on OD and ID, depending on material durometer and thickness. Tighter tolerances are available on select grades. Cannon Gasket cuts EPDM to custom profiles in-house and matches lead times to your production volume. PSA backing, pad printing, custom packaging, and kitting are all on the menu when you need them.
