Properties of Neoprene gaskets

Cannon Gasket cuts Neoprene gaskets to your drawing in durometer and thickness specifications of 10A to 90A Shore hardness. Moderate resistance to oils, greases, solvents, and many chemicals. Good weather and ozone resistance. Inherently flame retardant.

Neoprene tolerances and customization

Standard dimensional tolerances on Neoprene gasketsland around ±0.010" to ±0.015" on OD and ID, depending on material durometer and thickness. Tighter tolerances are available on select grades. Cannon Gasket cuts Neoprene to custom profiles in-house and matches lead times to your production volume. PSA backing, pad printing, custom packaging, and kitting are all on the menu when you need them.

How Neoprene Performs Across Mixed Environments

- Moderate resistance to ozone, UV, weather, oils, greases, and refrigerants. - Good flame resistance compared to other general-purpose elastomers. - Available in durometers from 10 to 90 Shore A and in sponge / foam grades.

When to Choose Another Material

For aggressive oil exposure, Buna-N. For sustained outdoor or steam service, EPDM. For aggressive chemical or high-temperature work, Viton. Neoprene is the right choice when the application mixes several mild exposures and a premium compound is not justified.
